So when people ask, “what is it called when two people skydive together?” – the answer you might be thinking of is a “tandem skydive.” But if you’re envisioning holding hands mid-air with a friend during your first jump, that’s not how tandem skydiving works. That kind of skydiving comes later – after you get your skydiving license! *wink*

Pro tip: if you want to have an exit buddy, add outside video to your skydive and you’ll get to skydive with a professional skydiving videographer!

How Does Group Skydiving Work?

How many people can skydive together? Well, our aircraft at Skydive Paraclete XP is large enough to accommodate multiple tandem students and their instructors at once. That means you and your friends or family can all ride up together, high-fiving and cheering each other on as you make the climb to altitude!

However, for safety reasons, tandem skydivers will not be able to jump from the aircraft simultaneously. You will exit one at a time, with your assigned instructor. Why? Because freefall is fast and requires precision. It’s better – and much safer – for each tandem pair to have the space they need to fly free!

The good news? That solo moment in the sky gives you the rare opportunity to focus 100% on your moment. When the instructor deploys the parachute and you’re blissfully floating back down the ground, you may be able to spot your friends above and below you as they drift along the skies – if it’s okay with your instructor, give your buddy a shout! Woo hoo! 

And then comes the best part: reuniting on the ground, adrenaline still pumping, to swap stories and celebrate your amazing accomplishment together!
