Costs Associated with Skydiving You Need To Know

Thursday, January 27, 2022

You have probably heard that the best things in life are free, and when it comes to friends or family, proverbially speaking, that’s certainly true. However, when hucking yourself out of a “perfectly good airplane,” you get what you pay for …

Exact skydiving costs will vary a bit from facility to facility, but there are a few price points that remain fairly constant. Interested in taking the leap? Here are the skydiving costs you need to know about.

How much should you budget?

If you’re new to the skydiving world, you might feel in the dark about how much skydiving will cost and how much to budget for your first jump. At Skydive Paraclete XP,  the cost of tandem skydiving starts at $214. If you choose to get digital video and pictures in addition to your skydive, the skydiving cost is $344.

By the way, we have a saying in the industry: if you didn’t get a video, it didn’t happen. Seeing as skydiving is bound to be a cherished bucket list item, you’ll definitely want to splurge for the proof it happened! (And it’s solid social media gold! #skydiveparacletexp)

Skydiving is more fun with friends.

When it comes to skydiving, the more the merrier. Surrounding yourself with friends not only keeps the energy up, but it also comes with a financial benefit. Adding peeps to your skydiving party can cut down on your skydiving costs. If you’re able to gather a group of 3 to 9 people, the skydiving cost drops to $204 a person. If you’re really good at gathering the masses, the skydiving cost for larger groups of 10+ is $195 per person.

What happens if you get hooked?

It’s a real possibility that your first tandem skydive will leave you wanting more. Here’s a secret, if you book a second tandem skydive on the day of your first jump, you can save some serious bucks. The skydiving cost of a second tandem purchased on the same day of your first jump is $155.

Come prepared.

When spending your hard-earned money on an experience like skydiving, you’ll want to make sure you get the most out of your day. While there’s no need to run out and buy a new outfit, make sure the ensemble you choose is made up of the “right” skydiving clothes. Especially in the winter when the temperature dips, multiple thin athletic layers are key. Additionally, for a little extra protection, you will have the option to use one of our skydiving jumpsuits. Your choice in footwear is important too. Plan on a pair of comfortable, lace-up sneakers; no boots, sandals, heels or anything with hooks.

Why does skydiving cost so much?

As a general rule, anything aviation-related will be pricey.

From purchasing the aircraft to the routine maintenance it requires, the overhead costs quickly add up. Likewise, skydiving equipment is quite expensive. Consider this: the typical setup for just one dual-parachute tandem skydiving system runs around $12,000 – and there’s routine maintenance required to ensure it remains in impeccable condition, as well.

In addition to costs associated with skydiving, the essential personnel on the ground and in the sky who make a professional skydiving operation run are all highly trained and experienced. The team members of Skydive Paraclete XP are each the best of the best in their respective positions, and when it comes to paying the cream of the crop fairly, that is costly too.

At Skydive Paraclete XP, we are proud of our elite fleet of aircraft, top-notch facilities, and world-class instructors. We are not the cheapest option, and we don’t cut corners. Above everything else: safety. We are a USPA member dropzone and follow all standards in order to provide our students and fun jumpers with an unparalleled experience.
