Radial XP is true to its definition: converging lines toward a common center. For Pete Kindred, Michael Brewer, and Jesse Weyher, the common center has always been their passion of skydiving. It’s that passion that brought a Californian with 300 jumps, a Connecticut downhill-skater, and a South Carolinian surfer to the humid, landlocked, and flat city of Raeford, North Carolina.
Raeford, situated twenty minutes from Fort Bragg, and at least an hour from anything else, is home to the United States’ largest vertical wind tunnel, and one of the most rapidly developing drop zones in the country: Paraclete XP. It is this magnet of training resources that drew the members of Radial XP together in February of 2015. Mike and Pete became fast friends, and started training with the simple objective of bettering their flight skills. Quickly, however, they realized their potential as they achieved competition success with a gold medal in Open 2-way VFS at iFly-Austin’s Gunslingers Dos and a silver medal in the same discipline at the Lexus Untouchables competition in Chicago.
The team then shifted their focus toward the 2015 USPA National Championships, adopting their long-time friend Jesse Weyher as their videographer. With limited time and funding, the team executed fewer than forty training jumps. However, in spite of this deficit, they took Silver in Advanced 2-way Mixed Formation Skydiving. For the 2016 season, with Paraclete XP’s generous assistance, Radial XP returns with the goal to train harder, fly faster, and land on the podium for Open 2-way MFS.
